The story of the life of the famous British officer and writer Thomas Edward Lawrence, Lawrence of Arabia is best described as an adaptation of his autobiography, The Seven Pillars of Wisdom. The film won seven Oscars, including Best Picture and Best Director, and is still the definitive work of its kind today.
